Create A Family Tree: Discover Your
Bloodline
If you’ve never considered making a family tree, you should
definitely start. Creating a family tree can be a very
rewarding and fun experience that helps you discover exactly
who was in your family and how you got to be who you are today.
To create a family tree, you must know who your parent’s
parents were, who their parents were and so on. Some people,
when creating a family tree, get so far back in generations
that they find out the History has stopped. This can take many
years of research and study. Some people don’t have that long.
Some just want to do it as a hobby. Some make it their lifelong
goal. Whatever your reason, creating a family tree will give
you true insight into where you’ve come from.
To create a family tree, start with you. Put your name at the
bottom of a sheet of paper. From your name, draw two branches.
At the end of these branches, put your parents. From your
parents, make branches that include your siblings, if any, as
well as their parents. From their parents, draw similar
branches. Soon, you may find that the entire piece of paper is
filled up. This is when creating a family tree can get very
complicated. As you draw branches and those people have kids
and those people have their own kids, soon you need a lot more
paper.
Where Are You From?
It’s only after creating a family tree can you truly discover
who your ancestors came from. Many people know what country
their ancestry originates from but do you know who those
ancestors were? Do you know what they did? It’s interesting to
think that these people live in a completely different world
that you do now. These ancestors didn’t have as abundant
technology as you now have and had to make due with what they
had. This often led to turmoil and hard living. Obviously they
endured, however, or you wouldn’t be here today. It’s this
turmoil and hard living that is most interesting when creating
a family tree.
By seeing what your ancestors had to go through, you can better
appreciate the strength of your bloodline. It fills you with
pride to know that your blood is so strong that it’s survived
after so many generations. Of course, you can only find this
out by creating a family tree. If you’ve never tried, there’s
no better time to start. Its fun and it’s full of interesting,
and often heart wrenching, stories.
